They have been airing this commercial on speedtv during f1 racing. Makes me laugh as they are no longer in F1. The whole direction of the company has changed to effiecency,,, so sad so sad. But thats where the future is.

I agree. BMW is the so far away from a drivers car now. Compare the 3 series now to the 3 series in the 80's.

Not long ago, I had an opportunity to drive a 2010 328xi. Nice car, but drove like any other new car. Ran super quiet, couldn't hear the motor. Really easy to accelerate, WAY TOO easy to brake. New cars have poor sight lines, could barely see out the car. Very comfortable ride though, and easily snuck up to 100mph without noticing.

Tiptronic/steptronic/etc is a joke. A useless toy. Might as well keep it in automatic. It doesn't feel like shifting a manual at all. And it even got me in trouble once.

its good but not as good as the last one. With the shots from B-fest and what not. the "we didnt set out to __________" commercial that one still brings a small tear to my eye, every time I see it.

Efficiency doesn't mean not fun. I know, maybe stop/start doesn't quite have the same feel to it, but...
as an environmental science student, I am just starting to realise the full extent of how screwed we are... and if people want to keep buying cars that run on fossil fuels at all, they need to be efficient.
I know, I'd like to have V8s forever too, but it's not gonna happen...
