So I just moved into my first apartment over the weekend. I took an exploratory bike ride through the neighborhood to see what was up. I found a handful of interesting things. First, the vintage/retro cafe bike club. I stumbled across about 20 of them (beautiful rebuilds) just chillin in front of this house and after chatting with a few of them for a bit found that they're all local and this house is the "hub" so to speak where they all congregate to work on them and meet...fuckin' eye candy and very cool imo.
A 1 mile radius comes complete with micro brew pubs, super inexpensive and absolutely delicious dining destinations, hipsters on fixed gear bikes, vintage shops, fantastic feminine wildlife...and this:
Now, this little gem has me all kinds of curious. I'm about 4 blocks from my door step and I caught the wide-body in the corner of my eye. Without looking like I was trying to fuck it in the tail pipe, I mozied over for a quick look...a couple things:
-Has towels covering entire front seats, upholstery is trashed?
-Front driver seat is cocked up against the steering wheel suggesting carrying stuff in back? people getting out? Not returning driver seat to driving position suggests lazy?
-Dash has a minor crack
-Garbage bits on the floor (cups, papers, etc)
-Dirty, and mild body imperfections here and there
-Far as I can tell, 100% stock.
-Has ///_3 badge on grill...missing the "M"
-The house its parked in front of has an empty driveway, but the m3 remains on the street
These are merely observations and is what I gathered on a literal walk-by, one pass. I didn't want to press my face against the glass and the owner or whomever to give me the "can I help you?" Because that's awkward. This was on Friday, the car hasn't moved since.
I'm not judging this guy or anything, but given what I've only seen over the past few days, my gut tells me that this is someone's daily, maybe someone that "has an m3" but doesn't really think about it like those of us in the community do.
Long story short, I want to buy the car. Just my luck, the owner of it is on the forum here and is going to be all "hey fucker, leave me and my car alone..." Basically, if it looks like some average dude with an M3, then I'd like to approach the guy and make a bid.
Thoughts?
