    I just did a head gasket on mine at 269K. the damn Krauts must have used recycled tank armor for the block, as there is still visible crosshatch and no ridge in the cylinders. Compression is still over 150 on all six holes, and the valves are tighter than a 12 year old girls ass. M20's live forever it seems

      I have 239k on mine and it is starting to show need of a head refresh, but still drives fine.

            Bought my car a year and a half ago in unknown condition with not working ODO that stopped at 246,000 miles who knows how long time ago.
            Other than a few little things I never had an issue with it.
