    Speedometer works Intermittently

So I was driving today and my speedometer wasnt working. Parked turned it off and went back on the road and was working again. Does anyone know what could have made it do that? Speed Sensor? A blown fuse wouldnt let the speedometer work at all. And all the other gauges work fine Tach, fuel, etc....

      Most likely the speedo itself.

This. Next time it goes out try banging on top of the dash and see if it comes back. I've heard of people having luck with reflowing the solder joints, but I've never had any myself. Last time I needed one done I sent it to Bill Auberlen's dad's speedo shop in Cali. Forget the name right now but I'll post it later. North Hollywood Speedometer is supposed to be pretty good too.

His dad's not named Paul, but that's another story.

I can remove the kick panel, and tug on the harness that is the most left side of the cluster, and the speedo comes back to life. I do it while the car is at speed, and the kickpanel had been long since removed. I forget which pin numbers in the white plug are responsible for speed signal, but you test them looking for open/close as you roll the rear wheels.

I heard there were soldered on batteries in the back of the speedo, but you have to get a whole new speedometer is that right?

You're thinking of the SI board.
