buddy of mine racs ama and his daily driver is an e55 amg. thoes things are damn quick for such a big comfy ride. beat our friends turbo tib no problem. my bike blew it away, but it was the best to keep up out of all the cars that road trip...

2004 E55 AMG. pure 4 pimpness.

Ive driven a 99 and a 01 E55, amazing interior, lots of elcectro toys, hauls seriouse ass, and the trunk is decently sized. Plus shit dude did i mention it hauls ass.

The W210 E55s feel slow as hell in comparison to the supercharged W211 E55 because of its linear powerband. The newer ones are awesome.

Last fall I chased one down at 3am on the empty freeway.

I was cruising happily at around 70mph, on my way home from a club, and I see this black blur fly by, literally shaking my car in its wake. My friend and I spotted the AMG badge, but it was honestly moving too fast to make out the body style. So I downshifted and floored it. And floored it. And floored it. After about 2 miles, I catch up (I'm going around 125 now). Sure enough, E55. Well he lets me get beside him, both doing around 135 now, and then he nails the throttle. Pulled about 6 car lengths within half a mile. He continues this pattern, slowing down to let me catch up, then flooring it and leaving me completely (I'm WOT the entire time, crusing at around 140). On the last run he lets me pull alongside and I give him a thumbs up, he waves back, then I exited to go home.

I can't imagine what the sheer force of accelerating feels like in that car.

ya, the guy who let me drive his 99 amg, used to own a 93 512tr Testerossa
and goddamn that thing was Fast on a whole other level... amazingly enough he let me drive it fairly hard.... i felt like i should be on Top Gear explaining why rich people should be buying it lol..

But anyways, he is gonna trade in his 99 amg E55 for an 06 soon enough. That will be fun :twisted:

What about the C55? They're really nice, so is the CLK55. Plan on test driving the CLK55 and CLK500 this week and hopefully my dad will get one May 1st.

if he want sa cruising car then i doubt he'd wanna get a e39 m5 (manual), although that'd be my choice. If i were you i'd get a lexus.. reliable cars, i rarely have to work on our customer's lexus always in good shape...
