The best BMW ever.
Photos taken in the Nürburgring. Best track ever? :)
Some lap times by Horst von Saurma:
M3 CSL 7.50 min
Gallardo 7.52 min
911 GT3 7.54 min
911 Turbo 7.56 min
360 Challenge Stradale 7.56 min
CSL kicks ass. Basic E46 M3 does it in 8.22. Of course, those Pilot Sport Cup tires really help.

This M3 tuned by Digi-tec looks also so sexy:
They claim 360 or 375hp. It's possible, I've got a friend who dynoed 'Big Numbers' from his M3 after tuned by Kelleners-sport. But who cares about only horsepowers, it's the whole package that matters.
Damn. I think we get the short end of the stick here. BMW would rather make more new "competition package" M3s for America. And Turner Motorsport make their "version" of the CSL in the new M3. But I'm jealous of Europe where CSLs are becoming commonplace at the track and people are beginning to tune them.
I'm pretty sure Turner Motorsport's CSL is the real thing.
i don't think so dude.. i'm 99% sure they just copied all of the CSL parts in CF or fiberglass and bolted them up, i remember reading it in Roundel... they also made their own version of the CSL trunklid, which looks simply awesome.. it's close but not the real deal

Turner just makes a package of aftermarket parts to take a regular M3 and have it compete with a CSL, performance-wise. It's just a us market M3 though, with mods.

if i were given a choice of a CSL or uofom3's car, it would be freakin close.
speaking of that, we need more pics of your car. NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!
That car, IMO, has the spirit of the Evo3. For that reason and that reason alone, I am in love with that car. FUNCIONALITY FOR ONCE!! Thats how the ///M3 should be anyways, too much luxury shit if you ask me. But then again, BMW is a business, first and foremost. :)
The biggest thing I love about the M3 CSL is that Jeremy Clarkson LOVES it, and he hates BMW's.
I think Clarkston is a closet BMW fan. He just won't openly admit it on camera. There has been many episodes of Top Gear where Jeremy has hailed the greatness of German engineering.....and that he biased towards the mechanical wonders over styling. The Germans have always taken than approach.....heck, look at the Cayanne
As for the M3 CSL, its without the question the best of any E46 ever produced. And like so many times before, us Yankees on this side of the pond are given the shaft when BMW decides none will come to us :(
