Mine has no lights in either bumper! However I bought the bumpers that way when I was converting over to Evo type stuff.

It is possible that someone who previously owned the car bought a aftermarket or euro bumper. The wiring missing is a bit odd...

I did, it seems they are stumped too at the moment. I really don't get it. Free upgrade in my opinion but its still weird.

someone between 87 and 89 replace the original one with the euro spec piece, probably because they broke it. seems completely plausible.

yeah, but there is no wiring for the lights.... i unwrapped quite a bit of the harness tape and I don't want to unwrap anymore. No wires.

Thats kinda weird. Wonder if the vin numbers will tell you anything? Try the dealer and see if the vin pulls up anything?
