E34 or E30 ?

Ive had both,, e30 318is was fun as hell to drive hard, sporty, flickable, and rewarding. E34 525touring is my truck, I haul things you wouldnt think could be put in a car... The other day I brought home a couch, small table and two chairs in one trip all in the back of the car. Plus it still handles absolutely great and gets 22mpg on average. The m50 as more hp around 180 i think but the weight of the car cancels that out. You are going to have to go with a 535 or 540 if you want to see any real increase in speed vs the e30. Even with a 535 or 540 its still a completely different car and made more for cruising, which it does very very well.

almost went with an e34 myself in terms of practicality and comfort but settled for an e30 as a compromise. I think an e30 can match up to an e34 well in terms of comfort but not space - provided you leave it stock. It has become my DD and sports car whenever I want

A sorted E34 is a thing of beauty to drive. Smooth and silky. An E30 is a crude toy by comparison. Both are truly great in their own right
