My friends and I try to teach as many girls as we can how to drive manual. So far most of them have gotten the hang of it after a few min. I just hate how some people think its so difficult when they haven't even tried to learn.

THat way everything is just reversed and Is till drive a clutch relatively unmodified.
HOLY fuck we have amputee that is modifying his pedal set up tot continue driving a manual gear box, but we cant get 40 year old men to learn to drive a stick???? WTF Really all Drivers in the US need learn and pass a fucking test that says they can drive stick right. If there is guy that can do it with less than 5 parts traditionally considered necessary to do so then all the shit heads in Drivers ed can learn

That is what I thought but it is in a track car. The input shaft bearing on the origional one is shot and the junkyard tranny felt fine in the yard but once I got it home and inspected it further, it seems there is a tooth missing on one of the input shaft gears. My mistake was assuming it was fine since the engine had a broken rocker and was junked because of the engine.

The one I am getting is rebuilt and should last me a while.

I wonder how many DCTs are going to be around with >200k on them.

They have hand clutches for this kind of situation.

Manuals are far from perfect too. I have my engine out now replacing the one in my e30 and am driving 4 hours tomorrow to pick one up because the junkyard one I pulled turned out to be bad.

I drove a new M3 with the DCT.

If I had the cash to buy a new M3, I'd skip the manual and go for the DCT. Brilliant transmission.

In the entire month we only actually found 3 manual outback/legacys, including the one we bought..

Only 2 days before, we almost bought one that wasn't nearly as nice for $8900! and they wanted to give us $2k for our trade in, we ended up selling that car privately for $3700.
Nicely done. Giving up 2k in transition for a car of that caliber is awesome. I'm sure it will serve you well for many years.

I'm still pretty set on a Forester but I'll be waiting a little longer to pick one up. I'd like to clear my garage of e30 parts so the shoe can have the home she deserves.
