Escalade Door!!

Watched it happen, Sittin' outside starbucks with a friend...Escalade pulls up and the owner proceeds to let their dogs out...and doesn't pay attention to the monstrous passenger door that got caught like a sail by the wind...BAMM ...door + plus fender= $800.00 insurance claim..(yes I calmly walked over and asked for insurance information)

The owner kept saying "you don't think this will cost very much do ya?"

Going to get fixed tomorrow by a top notch classic/custom car body shop..

when the damage happens on private property they will try to weasel out of paying. make sure they don't do that or the bill will be on you.

I have that same dent on both of my front fenders from po's. At least you saw the person do it so you could get inssurance

Any decent body shop could match it easily. It doesn't need to be on the car to do that.

Update:
--Paint in work today, and i also asked the Body Shop to paint the black on the bottom half of the car.. (not sure what you would call that part??)
--Ive already received the check from Her insurance company and deposited it!

So, insurance check MINUS dent repair & re-doing the black paint= still pocketing $200!!

So-- got the car back after 4 days at the body shop.. They were caught off guard when they went to actually do this repair.. The realized that

A. My car is NOT clear coated..but rather single stage led based paint,

and the bigger issue

B. the Pin Striping on the car, was, well REAL and not vinyl stripes (like newer cars)

After much discussion, I decided that I would rather have them re-do a portion of the existing stripe (that he would have to remove to repair the dent) than have them put vinyl stripes on the whole car to cover up/replace what the existing stripes.. seems that re-doing the real stripes was going to be.. A CHALLENGE... no shit.. thats why i went to them..


BUT.... in the end.. i am very pleased.. it came out very good..not perfect.. but damn close!
