    5 speed swap wiring help.

I thought there would be a DIY here but ive looked though the sub forum a few times with no success. My first question is what do i have to do about the little button for the clutch pedal? Did auto cars come with a plug to go onto that? My second is what do I do about the 4 or 5 prong connector that goes to where the shifter used to be? I remember seeing a picture that showed that i need to loop one of the wires to another but i cant find it anymore. The reverse light is wired to one of those pins too correct? Thanks for the help gentlemen.

So this is what I have right now. Can anyone confirm that it is all correct?

I have black/dark green and yellow/light green looped for the neutral safety bypass. The other yellow/light green and white/blue go to the reverse switch and brown is just sitting there

Get a friend and hook it up till they work correctly. I am doing this on my Bro's cabby in a few weeks. So I will cross this bridge soon enough.

Pick your year and read up on the wiring systematics:

P.S. For some reason mine has a plug there for the 5spd to plug into. I wonder why yours does not? I am almost done with my 5spd swap on my track e30. Maybe the plugs changed or deleted as years went on? All I know is the 86 and 87 I did swaps had the plugs there to hook up.

I did this two years ago I just cant remember the wires. It seems like we twisted all the connections until everything worked right. There was and awesome write up on slidewaysonline but It doesn't seem to be there anymore. If I get some time I will go and snap a shot of mine.

Wire the two green/black wires and green/yellow wire and connect all of them to one of the reverse light wiring. The other reverse switch wire goes to the blue/white wire. Cap off the brown wire. This will get your reverse lights to work and your car to start.

This will not work for cruise control.

^ Does that still take care of the neutral safety bypass?

The way I did it is what was posted in the link that E30 F34R posted but I was wondering If anyone could confirm that I did it correctly.

I believe that is actually the same illustration out of the write up I was trying to find you. And if it is then yes everything should work.

Remove the auto harness. Connect the gearbox reverse switch to the *correct* C301 two pin connector. End of story.
