    i don't know what it is

    There is this thing under my car, up front, drivers side. it looks like some kind of weight in thin sheet metal. can some one tell me what it is. PLEASE!

    Like where the horn is? I have that as well and its full of rust...

        i don't think it is a valve. there are no lines going to it.

                If you don't want to provide a picture then give a more detailed description. "drivers side up front" is not exactly specific.

                        That is your factory OBC alarm system. When you set the code on your e30, if some one messes up the code or trys to start the car 3 times, it will go off.
