Fucking cool! Is he into all the modding, etc? I can't wait to have this experience with my kids. I'm sure he appreciates it and will take good care of that car, its beautiful.

I tell you, it's one of the greatest joys of being a father. My son has been an honnor student since kinder garden, track and field standout, and really close to being skate board sposored. We were both teary eyed when I handed him the keys.

Sounds like he has his head on straight. The car should be a lot of fun for you guys and sometimes it makes me wish my dad and I would have had a common bond with cars like you guys.

Yes he loves cars. He's not bias to any make or orgin much like myself. He showed interest in the Nissan 240 later realizing that they are hard to come by. He's more into foreign than domestic but apreciates American muscle.

Its been two years since I made this thread. My son is now a senior in high school and doing well. He has been sponsored for skate boarding for a year now. He has not chose a college at this time. I only hope he chooses to stay in Michigan. He has taken really good care of his car in the two plus years he's owned it. The car never stays dirty long and he is meticulous with oil changes. Our only repairs so far has been an alternator, tie rods, guibo, and tires.

We are both looking forward to completing our 318is track/autox project.

Why didn't he search for his own car and negotiate the deal himself? It looks like he's taken care of it though, which is important. I like the white/cream wheels (if they actually are white).
The first car I ever rode in was an e30

Make sure he pays the insurance with his own money; otherwise, he can get in so much trouble with a fast first car.

Negotiate the deal himself at the age of 15? Oh god no. We both did research and chose this car. He plasti dipped the wheels white and cleared over them. The plasti and clear can be removed with no adverse reaction.

I did that. I don't see anything wrong with it, helps you gain experience. Of the 4 BMWs my family owns, I found all 4 on craigslist and negotiated deals for 3 of them.
