    Uhaul Break Down...

SO! After 2.5 days of driving, and we are literally 2 hours from home, U-haul decides to take a crap when we stop to eat lunch.

I get out of the cab. Smoke coming from underneath my side, fluid leaking profusely from the same area, Tell my dad that I think the transmission is leaking and he needs to take a look. YEP. I was right.

2 hours later, the wrecker shows up, we ended up having to take the e30 off the trailer and leave the truck behind (it will be towed to houston, tranny fixed WITH my stuff still in it.)

But before we could drive the e30 home, I had to find a car wash and get all the tranny fluid AND diesel (from a truck on the highway earlier that was spewing it from his side) off my car. Poor thing looked like she had been through an oil slick.

ALL of this AFTER we spent 2 hours on I-20 waiting for an over sized lowboy that had gotten himself high centered on the freeway, towed off. He had gotten stuck after he decided that he was too big to go through the upcoming construction and GENIUSLY decided to turn around on the "authorized vehicles only" road across the median.

That was the fun part of the trip...sitting on the tarmac of a major interstate, listening to the truckers on my portable CB (that came with the e30) make fun of this goof ball!

ANYWAY, we got into houston tonight. Hopefully we can get the truck tomorrow and get my stuff off. We shall see.

At least we are safely here. Thanks to all who kept me entertained along the way!!

I remember you having concerns that the E30 was going to break down on said trip. :)

          Haha...

Yes, yes I did! And when I realized the truck was no longer an option, and that I would have to drive the e30 the rest of the way to houston, LOADED down with a bunch of crap we needed off the truck...I got a bit worried again.

NOT to mention that on the way home, the inspection and brake fluid lights came on!! lol

But at least my transmission was fine, and the timing belt didn't snap!

I really need to get my transmission seals fixed!!

I hope you get U Haul to pay for the car wash, pain and suffering, lost wages, food, beer, future kids college fund, etc etc

Have a pro say that the tranny oil and shit fucked up your clearcoat and try and get some money.

The U hau truck broke down on my bro stranding him in nowhere TX while moving to houston. They tried to argue that they didnt have to pay for his hotel and shit. By the time our lawyer was through talking with them they refunded everything, including the rental on the truck and trailer.

Apparently they didnt have an ass-covering clause in thier contract and they were liable for a breech.
              Im now E30less.

2 hours out of Houston? I'm assuming on the East side? If so, not a place to be. East Texas = Scary :D

Lufkin - now that's a scary place. Trees, cattle and not much else. I did see a Bison while I was there though.

My Father-in-law used to own 10 acres with a cabin on lake Sam Rayburn. Interesting type of folk up around that area :D

Have to come check it out. We'll be in Tampa the whole last week of May, going to make a run down then and see if we like it.

Probably not moving anywhere for about a year though.
