    Aviation gas

In case anyone is wondering, 100 octane leaded aviation gas works just fine in e30's. :)

I use it in my Corvair. And it's not doing nothing to your O2 sensor?

there is a misconception about av gas in cars you should know about . the octain rating scale is different and is for a much lower and constant RPM not the varying RPM of a car. there are also fuel boosters added that while they don't hurt the car also do not help it.

most of the time the 100 octain av gas ends up lower octain then super unleaded from the pump. also not all av gas is unleaded.

you do know that the lead will foul out your o2 sensor at some point right?

In case anyone is wondering, Jet-A will not work in an E30 unless its diesel.

Interesting. I usually mix it with 93oct in my Corvair. I know when i do, the pipes burn cleaner, and the car runs better. MMmmm, i need to look into this.

You mix Jet-A into gas? Jet A is just highly refined diesel. I don't know if that's the best idea.

there WAS a big VW guy Gene Berg who did a big tech thing on it and explained the differences and scales, boosters and running temps of the av gas VS pump gas VS race gas. since it was reguarding its use in VW motors, it will be revelent to your corvair too. it is floating around in cyber space in PDF form i am sure.

Jason Your Corvair LIKES LEAD thats why it will like the Av gas no matter what the octane rating is. Lead is good its a lubricant.

Affe- You can get lead resistant O2 senosors now a days so you dont have to worry about that as much

I've heard lots of rumors. Some people have told me that you need a carburetor to use avgas, others have told me that it will burn out my cat eventually. Doesn't really matter to me because my motor is pretty much shot anyway and will need to be replaced soon.

Some useless, government mandated piece of shit that hangs under my car. We don't have emissions tests where I live, so I think i'll be taking it off pretty soon.
