    Hard to find and expensive...
But grip like hell and have a life of about a summer.

There a kick ass tire though. We run them on our spec miata.

Yah it should be noticed that they are similar to an R-compound tire.

But if your looking for this kind of traction, of course they're not gonna last.
As for the cold, heat em up.

When I take my M3 out I go around the corner .... light-em up just to get them to operating temprature its not cool. Once i lost it but didnt r3v it just got way too sideways on a right turn.....DRY PAVEMENT in the summer!!!!

I would not advise on these tires.

I know someone with a track-prepped E30 (gutted, cage, Moton shocks, etc.) and he's running these tires on 15" wheels I believe. He recently hooked up a data acquisition system to measure Gs, speed, engine, etc. and he managed 1.36Gs out at Buttonwillow Raceway. Impressive.

Are you guys sure you're talking about the T1-R? It's brand new, and I'm not even positive it reached U.S. shores yet, and if it did it's only been a month or less.

I dont' know what to say to you.. but its a required rubber in the spec miata as well as most other club classes. running them on the track and street i have seen no problems..
Perhaps you need to learn to lift the throttle from time to time?
I know nothing about you or your driving skills, but the adhesion of these tires is incredible for a DOT approved tire..
Granted thier treadwear is around 40...

                    i drive at a constant 7k rpm.

they are great i agree but come to think of it I think I had the T1-Rs? maybe I just didnt like how fast they wear and how they are crappy when cold.

Okay, now I know you're all wrong.

Peter, you're talking about the RA1.

Avi, I have a strong feeling you're thinking of the T1-S, or another tire altogether.

Basically, no one in the States has an impression of the T1-R, as they are too new. They're up here and in Europe, though.

the T1-R is a brand new tire from toyo and its the big brother to the T1-S and if what you guys are saying about sry tracktion thats exactly what I want when I hit the Ring. actually i have a little secret for all of you but wont reveal it untill its all finalized.

Yeah, you won't find much info on American-based forums, I'm pretty sure the new T1-R hasn't been shipped there yet.

The T1S was hands down the best street tire ever. I can't wait for the the T1R which hasn't been released in the States yet. :(
