i know this because it happened me
Power will go to the coil but not out the secondary winding. I am done arguing with you about it.

How would you verify if the engine position sensor is faulty?

Nobody has any ideas?? I've been going over wiring diagrams and I'm a little confused. Power comes from the ignition module and also through another relay???

Have you checked the ignition switch?

Is this car an e or i, please give us the last seven of the vin. Reference senders are relevant if it's an e other wise they don't exist unless it's an M3.

Its an e or at least practically identical (american 325) I will post the last 7 digits of vin tomorrow morning. How would you test the ignition switch (I searched but found nothing).

So it turns over you just get no spark correct, it the transmission reference sender most likely. E's and M's have two of them one they start acting up they can be hard to diagnose. Also another member mentioned the dreaded cam being tossed off the flywheel, That I hope has not happened.

Correct no spark, is there a way to verify if one of the sensors is bad? it now seems relevant to mention that I believe I have a chipped tooth on the flywheel and when I go to start the car it will randomly make a metal on metal screeching sound and not catch. Could this throw the cam off?

It doesn't affect the cam one bit. It's an index tooth, every time it comes around it says fire...think of cam mesh they have to come together at same time to achieve the goal.

You can check the reference senders they need to be ohmed out with a digital volt meter. Download a copy of the the ETM from Wedophones as mentioned and go from there it's easy. Or search here for flywheel reference senders on Eta's.

I know your new but having mentioned it was an eta would have alleviated some silly bicker between members.

Tell us how things went when you get it done.

Sorry for the confusion but when I said 325 that is the model its not an e just identical. I will check the the reference senders and get back. Thanks

                                I apologize for the bickering.

OP in your original post you stated that you have no power going TO your coil is this correct? I.e. the the small green wire does not have ~12v with the key in the run position?

Can you please confirm yes or no.
