uhh they never sold the 850 awd in america. we got the s/v70 awd, xc, s40, v50, s60, xc70, xc90, s60r, and v70r.
stay the fuck away from volvo awd. They break driveshafts, axles, throw out bearings, and worst of all- transmissions, which aren't that cheap. the one in ours' blew up last summer, and got fucked up again a few weeks ago, right when the warranty ended.

Could have swore they sold the 850awd here. Oh well
The reason your Wagon is broken and is breaking those parts is you are using like a fucking Expedition jeep or rover, they are not meant to be off roaded.Originally posted by FusionIf a car is the epitome of freedom, than an electric car is house arrest with your wife titty fucking your next door neighbor.

I'm really surprised there hasn't been more support for the e30 iX. I had the pleasure of DDing mine all last winter on some ContiExtremeContacts, and let me tell you, it was freaking awesome. That car ate snow for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Granted, there are a lot of expensive iX specific parts, but they are plenty similar to other e30s, so you will probably be able to share spare parts and such.
My vote definitely goes to the iX, not only for its awesome full-time all wheel drive, but also for the e30/bmw/awesomeness factor.

My old 200 Turbo 10V Avant:
Find a 20V version, chip it, and have fun. These are seriously fast and the 20V 5 cylinder is probably one of the best sounding engines on the planet.Mike

That turbo IX is just retardard. So awesome.
I'm not really interested in an IX though. I'd like to get something non-BMW for a change of pace. Plus my buddy has had his IX for years now. He's OCD-style meticulous about his E30's yet the thing is still a maintenance whore - breaking expensive ass IX parts left and right.
Also whatever it is must be a manual. The Volvo was the first auto car I ever bought and it made my life sad.

All this talk about high boosted, stiff, Forester's is intriguing though. I must know more.

It'd be hard to find a Forester XT 2004+ (the turbo one that came to the states, first gen never saw the turbo here) under 10k. I've seen a few but not many. But I've been looking at even the non-turbo ones as the next dd. Not saying you couldn't swap one. A good condition first gen goes for 5k+/-

Ahh I see. '04 is a bit too new for me. If I wanted a turbo wagon I'd probably go first gen WRX. A few years older and a few grand cheaper with more power.
