I begged Archie to give me one more day with Hans. We were having so much fun in VT!
He said it was ok as long as I posted some cool stuff..
Well, here are some pretty cool photos...
A little background for these, this is Vermont Sportscar. They build all of the Subaru Rally & Rally Cross Cars. This shop is amazing.. They have won the Championship for a few years now..

Dave Mirra's Car

Hans wanted to sit in the drivers seat.. He had to settle for chillin on the dash.

Hans was curious about the European Championship car.. He almost fell into the large intake on the side of the car...

They were checking a fresh trans install on one of the cars.. Sounded awesome!

Vermont Sportscar... They build some amazing stuff!

Hans wanted to see some of the parts that go into these cars..

Of course he had to check out the wheels..

Rally Tires...

Spare fenders..

While sneaking around the parts warehouse, Hans stumbled upon something special...
This is Higgins' car. This car has won Rally USA the last two years. This car is not usually a completely white car. It is usually dressed in crazy graphics like the other cars..
Hans was honored to be present with this car!

Big thanks to Vermont Sportscar for letting me and Hans have a look around.. Thank you Chris!!

Almost forgot... This hood was hanging in the hallway... This was pastranas rally cross hood... Read the note..

Apparently, the story goes, Travis was doing his usual craziness on his dirt bike and broke his right ankle the day before he was supposed to compete at rally cross. Well, instead of pulling from the race, the guys at Vermont Sportscar rallied together and installed hand controls for the throttle in his car.. Something along the lines of paddles on the steering wheel for throttle control. Anywho, he was doing ok but then hit a wall... Its just amazing that the guys at Vermont Sportscar didn't just throw in the towel.. They cranked out an alternative and made it work!!Comment

Hans was pumped to see all the cool car stuff in northern VT we have. But we weren't finished... Next stop was a quick drive up highway 89 to visit our friends at Rennline. They primarily focus on Porsche stuff, but they have some really amazing equipment for making just about anything..
The boss' car... and my e34 beater..

High Power Waterjet cutter

One of the many machined aluminum parts they make for Porsches

Hans and I had no clue what these parts were for.. But they looked really shiny...

This is the "shop" car..

They are serious here, they not only build parts but they race the cars.

Hans fell in love with a bunch of red heads.... He told me to just leave him there..

Hans tried to make some off color joke about skids...

Hans seems to get along well with most other parts...

Some of the finished products from Rennline..

Thanks Tom for letting me bug you during your preparation for the 991 911 product launch!!Comment

Last stop on the tour was VEMS. VEMS does standalone engine management and also has a sweet four wheel dyno..

Hans was a little confused, cause Jason had his giant boat in the shop to rebuild the carburetors..

Hans saw the fuel injector test bench.. He said something about wanting some private time to check the blow pressure...

Hans likes parts.. So he made me b-line for the parts display..

Hans wanted to really get intimate with a VEMS ECU, this one plugs right into a factory BMW harness... That made him a lil excited...
