Turbo Tools?

Well I pulled the trigger and ordered a fresh rebuilt holset hx35. I'm going to start aquireing parts for the next month or so and start my build. I have a huge amount of tools at my expense, however I was wondering if there are any "turbo specific" tools I'd need....I have all the standard crap (wrenches, a mig welder, plasma cutter, saw-zall, etc etc etc) but is there anything I'd need special for the install?

I dont' think you need any turbo specific tools... maybe just a good set of nut drivers, and line wrenches, seeing as you do a lot of tube/pipe routing.

Plasma cutters aren't fun. They are handy sometimes, but they're unrefined.

Depends on your deffinition of fun lol. This was my old Baja Nissan Titan. The long travel kit was built by NCD Fabrication, and bought by me =]. This front bumper is what I did with a plasma cutter...he's right ^ they are pretty raw but you can always clean shit up with a little sanding/grinding, I'm surgical with one now. It's not exactly standard, but it is for Sonoma County Street Rodz...family shop.

Nice truck! I think the plasma cutter is fun to just cut things up with but, if your wearing improper clothes it sucks.

Yeah, exactly like I said. Useful, but unrefined. Depends on the situation, but most of the time, cleaning up the mess left from the plasma cutter is just annoying and time consuming.

Nice work on the bumper though. Do you have a side and rear shot of the truck? Exactly how much travel does the 'long travel' kit provide?

I only have one of the front bumper, I actually did it the week before I sold it. Now I have the E to play with haha.

And it supposedly had 16" of front travel. I ran the ncd LT kit, front fiberglass, 2.5" king coils in the front, radflo 2.5" rear shocks, GIANT spring under axle conversion with a
12 leaf pack.
