You're done now guys. HarryPotter, you need to stop being a dumbass. No need to call him out on a personal level. Plus, your grammar isn't exactly immaculate either.

OP.....
go to the walgreens or art supply store, get a couple of sheets heavy cardboard, bend and shape out a template for the heatshield. you will need a bend at the bottom to bolt it to the rail at the bottom. you will also need to get the measurements for the height of the inner fender as it is lower than the engine side of the rail.
go find a fab shop and tell them you want your template copied in something like 20 gauge aluminum or there abouts. it is pretty easy to bend up in a brake. tell them you are going to need a top for it, give them the measurements and ask them to nutzert the top lip with 4 6mmX1.25 inserts. after you get it done, go hit up the hardware store for the appropriate SS button head allens for the inserts and make sure that you put anti seize on the threads because SS will gaul easily.
take your new bitchen heat sheild home and grab a can of WATER BASED stone guard or undercoating (the cheap tar stuff will run when it ets hot and make a mess) evenly spray it down with the coating inside and out.
now while it is drying, take out your driver's side grill and grab the dremel.
look at the backside of the grill that will be inside of your new heat shield.
see all the spots that are blocked inbetween the slats??????
open them up...except for the spots where the screws go in the grill to hold it on.
is the grill dry yet?
good, now take a piece of hose (8mm fuel line works well for this) measure out about 12" of it and cut it legnth wise so you can slip it around the cut out for the MAF or AFM (what ever you have). that will work as a gasket to seal out hot air.
now start by screwing the heat shield to the rail at the bottom, poke your MAF/AFM through the heat shield and hang the filter. bolt on the lid (remember to lube the threads of the SS bolts)
go drive and be happy.
you don't HAVE to have a stock airbox for the "best" cold air intake, but it takes a little skill and know how to do it better than stock.
i will shoot a couple of pics of mine. i ended up using 20 gauge aluminum diamond plate because i had a bunch of it i bought for cheap amd i ran out of the waterbased stone guard i had so i took some reflective bubble wrap and glued it to the outside of the heat shield. this actually works pretty well because it gives a 1/4" air gap insulation from the heat.Last edited by der affe; 09-16-2010, 08:30 PM.seien Sie größer, als Sie erscheinen
