    Blowouts are scary D:

On my home from work travelling on the freeway, 100km/h mid overtaking into the fast lane, felt something hit inside the rear wheel well.

All of a sudden the car wrenches to the left towards the car beside me, I manage to counter it mm's before sideswiping it, only to be thrown towards the concrete barrier, countered that and managed to tokyo drift into the breakdown lane across 2 lanes of traffic.

    Onto the pics!
I must've looked like an idiot, crouched on the side of the freeway , lots of traffic, big smile on my face (only thing I was thinking about was "LOL r3v post!")
    Epic sidewall FAIL

I had been putting off getting my new tires fitted..guess I'll get onto that.
These were second hand unknown tires bought through a forum. =\

Somehow ended up with no rim damage! Was scary as hell..no more cheaping on tires.

Just went out and grabbed the wheel, checked it over and there's no damage, the seperated rubber is still sealed to the rim, I think that saved the rim from total destruction, checked the bumper and fender and all seems fine. Lucky escape.

I was positive that I was going to crash, I was just trying to avoid crashing into other people. But I gained a little control and just threw it across traffic onto the shoulder.

Sooo happy the rim is ok. When I saw the view from the rear as I walked around the car I almost gagged with fear. The small amount of rubber is still sealed to the rim, which im guessing saved it by giving it at least something to run on other than rim... (in those 2 first photos the car isn't jacked up, its actually resting on the rubber)

Should have pulled a gymkhana 3 and done a burnout on it afterwards.

If you'd been on stretched tires everybody would be using this story as ammo. Glad to see you made it out ok :)

lucky you weren't on 14" wheels or your car's body probably would of drug on the road. I know that on my bottle caps that when it got a flat front tire in my driveway the oil pan/front spoiler/and fender were mm's above the ground.

Lucky its a rear tire and not a front. Front tire blowout = extra scary.
