BUUUT...

I still have all the body panels, minus the hood, for my parts car. Everything is still on it - the interior (dash and all) has just been stripped out. But it's still got suspension, steering, and it rolls good. I can put the trunk panel back on, along with the doors, as well as the fenders. Then all you need is a hood (maybe your old car?) and you'd probably need a respray.

It's cirrus blue, 88 325is (so later model) and has 185,000 miles on it.

I know you're looking for a mint early style - but I got one here, IF you are interested. Only issue would be shipping.
