    skid pad

    i wana lower my e30 but im worried about breaking an oil pan what do you guys know about skid pads?
    Im Greek thus the name :D

    Skid pads are fun, but if you drive on them too much, you'll kill your outside front tire. They're flat though, so I don't know how think you're gonna break an oil pan.... Are you talking about skid plates?

      ^ lol, straight answer is a guy on here ej knight makes skid plates if thats what you want. You won't need one unless you cut springs or go coilover. Just buy a set of Sport springs and you won't need a skid plate.

            I wouldn't say that. Sport springs+ blown oe shocks= busted oil pan.

            A skid plate is good insurance against a busted oil pan.

              or race springs plus shitty roads/raised manhole covers/retarded speed bumps could all break the oil pan.

                This is probably a good rule of thumb, but it is definatly no guarantee. I have bav auto springs on my car and i would not consider it very low, but i still scrape my pan from time to time. If you have the money it would be good peace of mind at the least.
