As an "old guy" with a awd E30, I would rather have less power to save my transfer case, but stickier rubber and better driving skills and car control.

Anyone can go fast in a straight line........;)

Sounds like you want an m42

I would rather have something inbetween.

I'm actually goin through the same thing. I've found a great deal on a 325e but I don't know if I can go through with it in fear of regretting not having a faster car. Thing is I haven't even driven an e30 before so it's not like I have anything to compare it to.

If you guys found a great deal on a 325e would you go for it?

Sure, but only because I've done an m50 swap, and can do it again. ;)

My first car was/is a 325es. Its chipped. Its not too slow, more then enough power for normal driving. Also 5spd always makes it feel faster then it is. Ive been thinking about swapping or turboing it but I like the fact that i dont have that much money into it. With the current suspension/wheels/tires it can out handle most every normal car on the road so im happy with that.

anyone sticking with any kind of stock m20 should not be concerned about speed

sure. I did. Thats the only reason i have my eta.

they are plenty of fun to drive, very torquey. with some bits from an 'i' and a new diff, they're not too slow.

I've always had more fun in slow cars w/ decent handling. Fast cars, the stakes/risks are usually too high. (i.e. becoming dead or out an expensive car.)

That and slow cars are usually more forgiving too, and you get a better "feel" for what the car is doing, including when its on the edge.

I totally forgot I made this. With such poor grammer and obvious stupidity how did anyone take this seriously?

And I'm also surprised how many people said less power.

                          s54 would be nice...

Danny is on the ball though, maybe you can come over? Trade my car for a dance?
