lulz, somebody is watching too much pornmatco tools all the way. Thats all i use. They are alot cheaper than strap on and just as good. For example, i had the strap on guy try and sell me a set of torx sockets back when i was buying all my tools.he wanted 250 for the set. I said f you mr snap on man and called up the matco rep.
He came to my shop and had pretty much the same set in silver eagle for about 125 less than snap on and i have never had any problems with them.
If your a tech by trade then i would say matco. If not then craftsman is your best bet. Wait till black friday and sears usually has their 200 piece or whatever it is on sale for around a hundred bucks.Comment

Maybe its cause i'm a super cheap ass but i like my autozone great neck set. I've had it for 10 years now. Best $100 tool setup i've ever bought. Lifetime warranty and they are everywhere. The only thing i,ve ever broke was a breaker bar trying to remove and axle nut. Took over 500lbs of force to remove it.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

It was a honda accord. It took two overweight germans jumping on a 4' breaker bar to get it free.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

Must be a honda thing. A friend with a civic had the same problem, kept breaking the autozone breaker bar. We used the craftsman bar with a pipe and it worked like a charm. Only took one overweight American though. :pComment

SK, I have a few hand tools.
MAC, Air tools & impact sockets. I have their 3/8" Flathead air ratchet, the GOOD one w/ the bottom exhaust, 80ft/lbs bitch. That mofo almost broke my wrist the first time I used it. And I have their 1/4" flathead as well, awesome little thing. Bought their 3/8" drive impact socket set, 10-19 shallow and deep, sweet set.
I also bought their split-top rolling tool chest in late 2005 when it first came out, holds everyhting I need, rolls around the whole shop. And ya don't have to move everything to open it.
I think that MAC dominates my toolbox....
Craftsman, I have many of their sockets, no problems yet.
SNAP-ON, I buy their ratchets and not much else except the special stuff. T60 w/ replaceable tip, yada yada. My buddy Dave bought the Red Rocket. 3/8" drive impact, ya don't have to oil it, he loves it.
HUSKY, have a few older ratchets, they're pretty tough. And 1/2" drive impacts bought at Home Depot when they still had them. $25 for a 12pc set or so. Had them 5 yrs, nothing to complain about.
BTW, is there a toolbox/tool pic thread.....Last edited by MikeDE; 10-03-2010, 12:17 PM.-03/2005 E46 330D Touring 6spd(204hp/410nM) Sapphire Black/Naturbraun Sport...300k KM & 35mpg(mixed)Comment
