    I'm lookin at a 318is

The dude wants 2 grand "firm".
    Things wrong with it:
-AC was leaking freeon so they took it out... They still have the parts though.
-Needs new heater fan blades. They're bent and I guess make a little bit of sound.
    - Has a hot start issue. Supposedly just needs a new mass airflow sensor. But he's been driving with the problem since he got it which was a couple years ago.

Other than that it seems to be pretty tip top.

Normally I would go check it out and make my decision by myself like a big boy but I need your guy's help.
The seller lives about 8 hours away from me, BUT he's agreed to meet me in a convenient location. About half way for both of us. However, that's in the case that I'm willing to buy the car. Which makes sense. I wouldn't want to drive 4 hours to sell a car and then have the buyer back out. I don't have a lot of knowledge on these problems though. For the price is this worth it?

The 318is is the exact model I've been looking for.

        pics? mileage?

if its too far for you to go look at have someone on the forum in the area look at it for you. I would never buy a car without seeing it unless i had an unbaised and trustworthy 3rd party look the car over top to bottom, or the deal is far too good to pass up(not this deal obviously).

Mileage, I'm not sure about. He said it stopped working at 140k and he guesses it's at 180k at most.

Post pics, or at least try to get pics of the car and under the hood. For 2 grand, the interior should be clean and the body pretty good as well.

make sure you get the AC parts-the M42 uses a different compressor than all of the other e30s. It shouldn't be too hard to fix anyway unless its the evaporator in the dash, and even that isn't terrible.

EDIT: looks like a reasonable car, but it's probly been driven hard based on the video. Eventually will need a new clutch and those transmissions don't always hold up well under abuse. any idea when the bushings and such were replaced, if ever?

Yeah, he said the clutch still has good grip and everything but he's never replaced it so that might be something I'll have to take care of in the future.
