OP, this happens all the time with small animals, the best most inexpensive way to ward them off is to sprinkle bleach on the asphalt/concrete around your car. works like a charm....

If you are catching it on there spraying water on it will annoy the hell out of it and convince it to stop without hurting it. If you're not seeing it, there are sprays you can get at pet stores that smell & taste terrible to them, they use them to spray on stiches so the cat doesn't pick at them.

That's the humane way, I'll let the others talk about high powered rifles, M80s, napalm, etc.

Coolant will kill the cat, so unless you want to be scraping a dead cat off your roof, I advise against it.

I had one doing the same thing to mine. Wonder where he sleeps now that there is no roof on it. Probably sleeps in the car cover, like a hammock.

Gonna try the bleach tonight. I have a car cover but really don't feel like putting it on every night, seems like about the same work as hitting the top with a lint roller and removing the prints which is what I am doing now. Definitely not using coolant, don't want to kill the thing just want it to go away.

Also found this thing which looks pretty entertaining.

The same thing happens to me. Let us know what works.

I think it could be worse. ;) Classic thread from over on volvospeed. Luckily, that hasn't happened to any of my volvos yet.

My dad had an old 240z he was restoring, went out to start it one day and heard a cat screaming under the hood. Apparently, it was the neighbor's cat and it got cut up pretty bad. Never saw it again, I guess it learned it's lesson.
That happened to my cat waaaaay back when I was a kid. My dad went to start his TransAm and there was a brief meow and a thud followed by some blood spray.

                    Stupid fucking cats.

                          Asshole comment of the month.

Cats or dogs die from a very painfull death. I think you should drink a glass of coolant and report.
Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.

Take a big enough piece of cardboard to cover the top of the car and wrap the cardboard in tape so the sticky side is out.
Cats hate that shit. When they get stuck they will learn not to get back up there.,..

Thinking about using really sticky tape, then rolling the stuck cat up in it like a burrito and mailing it back to the neighbors.

                                Scat Mat (clicky).

Not exactly cheap, but it works. Luckily the scratches buffed out of my dad's 15k mile black '76 T/A. We got one of these and it was no longer a problem.
