    I am a dumbass

So today I set out to replace my fuel injectors. I (thought I) depressurized the fuel system, by starting the car, then removing the fuel pump relay as it was running. I then set to work removing the fuel rail. It didn't want to budge from under the manifold, so I got the brilliant idea of "Hey, I'll just take the injectors off the rail." I removed number 1 after a bit of struggle. And fucking gallons of gas comes deluging out.

I'm not entirely sure if I removed the wrong relay, or if there was just that much extra, but either way I feel like a fucking moron. The entire front side of my engine is soaked in gas.

    so yeah, wat do

The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem, good for you.

i hate to admit this, but i once was a part of a similar, slightly more harebrained experience; having some trouble starting a freshly built motor a friend & i though the ignition system to be in good working order & were checking for fuel. the car had been turning over rather (very) tight by hand but with a mechanical fuel interjection system it kept getting gas, presumably, and could be flooded. so we removed the spark plugs to flush the cylinders, and lo and behold the fully functional ignition system ignited said gas as it erupted from the head, lighting both the motor, and the ceiling of the garage on fire. a fire extinguisher made short work of it, and both garage & motor were unscathed. thus concluded our test for spark...

long story short; almost burned car & garage, saved it all, re-machined crank, done.

so by the time you would get an answer (or even finish typing this on r3v) all of the gas would have evaporated and your problem would be gone.

                why didnt you just fap?

you remove fuse #11 i think. let the car run stop. then try to start it a few time after that.
