Why did you yank your e-brake after your tire blew? *sigh*

what brake setup do you have that allows you to slam only on the front brakes?

also, like others said... e-brake and brake slamming probably not the wisest move for a blowout on the highway.

can you explain why you pulled the ebrake, exactly?

It was on an off ramp guys,

Im not an Armchair Racecar driver, like you guys may be, but in an emergency, when adrenaline comes in, you tend to make decisions that are not well thought out. I also have never been in a situation like this, because I control my driving very well.

I just slammed on the brakes, counter steered, and pulled the ebrake as the back end went out right after the front tire blew. I was going probably 35 or 30 mph when the tire blew, I thought I should slide the car with conjuction to the circular off ramp. and I did. The car slid a solid distance before coming to a nearly complete stop, and then making contact. If you noticed, the damage was minimalized and nearly easy to replace. I did the right thing in the situation, as if I were to have driven it out, It would have been a bad story and I would have made contact with something at 35 MPH. I have no regrets because I acted appropriately given the road conditions, the thinness of the circular offramp etc...

I hope that puts your questions to rest as to why I did what I did.

Im not professional, and have no track experience, just what I learned in parking lots with regards to drifting etc....

You're alive with no injuries, I'd say you did the right thing.

too fast to furious. yanking the e-brake and slamming on the brakes prob not the best thing in the world to do. A lot of accidents are caused by panic and over-reaction/correction. Your best to just let it slowly coast to a manageable speed and gently apply the brakes, you need the bmwcca school, its fun and very usefull.

Also sideway drifto is never advisable imho, you will come to a stop much quicker by proper braking and maintaining traction then to kick it sideways yo

I just ordered some 205 50 16 pairs for the rear, staggered tires FTW.

they are a softer tread rating too.

I know it probably wasnt the best thing to do, but for what happened, vs what could have happened, Im cool about.
