    My thoughts:

    Shitty tires?
    Not a smooth clutch engagement?
    Welded 4.10 open diff?
    Shitty tires?
You actually floored the shit out of your car?
    Sharper turn?

shit happens...i had blown shocks all around, broken subframe bushings, bad control arms..and bad driveshaft...you could imagine all that combined on a rainy day..my car would slide going 35...and the differential would lock on turns...with my car i just drive careful now

Realize that today was the first rain of the season, in most parts of the bay area.
therefore, the roads are extra-slick. I spun my car today, got my drivers side front wheel on a curb, and theres a chunk of grass in my lip. I'm surprised nothing happened to my car. no rim damage, body damage, flat, frame, etc.

Did it in my 2002 once, off camber on ramp, being a stupid teenager, and way to stiff race suspension.

(my dad had put his race set-up onto it before I bought it from him)

I don't mean to sound like a douche but this pretty much sums up my rain driving, I have never spun out in traffic in the rain (snow is a very different story).

shift lock is the correct terminology... little more counter steer and some correctly feathered throttle would have prevented thez spinning and all would be well :)

just curious, you ever crash your car before?
I got close as fuck to messing my car up really badly today.

Almost happend to me too, I wanted to hold the skid and do a drift thru the intersection (new tires, subframe bush. rebuilt DS etc.) i almost slammed into a barrier. Thankfully the traffic wasn't moving yet....sure did look like a fool, but at least I had the rain to blame it on.

Also, the good thing about these cars is as soon as you let off the gas, they instantly stop skidding, and regain composure. This is not the case with 911's, as they will continue to swing out of control (pendulum effect) when you let off the gas. Best thing to do in the 911's (esp the early ones before the anit-skid controls) is to STAY ON THE GAS or else you'll easily mess that car up(and yourself). Kinda neat when you compare it to other Ft engine, RWD cars. With the 911's, getting up to speed and maintaining speed requires a lot of driving skill. That is a car that DEMANDS skill to be driven.
