My boss wrecked a car that He had put a motor in years ago, it was not his fault at all but I'm pretty sure the owners insurance covered it.
Sure, but even if the owner's insurance covers it the owner get's a hiked premium for taking his car to the shop to get it fixed? A shop should have it's own insurance for this exact reason. If I was to crunch a new C6 Grandsport Vette at my dealership, the dealership's insurance would cover it, the owner would never be expected to pay, and of course my ass would be canned.

Wow that is crazy! This happens more then you would think. One of my grinds (mr2peak) knows a guy in the mr2 community who had a 3s swap done on one of his mr2's. One day his wife was out running some errands in her mr2 when she saw her husbands mr2 driving down the highway. Knowing it was in the shop getting work done she drove up next to it to see who was driving sure enough the mechanic driving the eniciated a race with her. There was no crash, but her husband was informed of what happened and they picked the car up from the shop the next day.

Our valet company has insurance for cars up to 130k I think (might be 150). Over that we don't drive them.

I love that no matter how jacked up the car looks the driver was always driving "slowly".

Most states require you to have insurance to open up shop. If the tuner is a legit company he should have insurance.

apparently, and this is according to bimmerboost, the shadowman owns an LP670-SV lambo. so him sayin he cant afford to cover the cost of the gt40 is kinda bullshit, so it seems. the guys site is also now password locked, it wasnt before, so they may be trying to clean stuff up for legal reasons. its just a damn shame that people do shit like this.

i also thought it was an original g40 not the new one. a bit of a relief. but this story is more about principle. i dont care if that car was a damn pinto. just the fact the old fart said it wasnt his fault pisses me off. he then went after the owners insurance for health costs. total bullshit.

they also found the hose the old fucker was using to measure boost was taped to the passenger seat...why the fuck would it be way of there? and theres no way in hell that car was going 65 with that type of trajectory. crazy old bastard.

He could have just been tuning the lambo guys.

Some people can make 100k a year and still have no $ left to show for it.

I can't belive this. Actually I can, there are some pretty shady businesses out there. I hope the owner of the GT gets this all sorted out. Poor GT...

Reading Shadowman's post made my head hurt. Reading the other side of the story and seeing pictures of the car only reinforced my first impression that he must be a total douche.

wow i can't even look at the car... :( as far as the situation goes, everybody's a loser in this, but i'm sure between their insurance agencies/highway patrol, they'll come up with a solution.

btw is it just me or should the highway patrol have on record what their men found on scene/ what their opinion on the matter is.
