Don't bother with one, they're crap. Stick to the E30. :)

Correct, but it affects the resell value, thus my recommendation to PPI the car. There probably is a reason it's so cheap ;)

That's a great price but you could spend that much on neglected / upcoming maintenance. Probably due for valley pan gaskets and cats. Like everyone else said, PPI and set aside a few grand for unexpected repairs.

          "Ferarri like engine repair bills"

          I read that somewhere.

Still........ It's an M5 and I would pretend to be in the Star video every day!

You probably read that somewhere where they think that a BMW badge means you're royalty. honestly, I was 19 and did the cooling overhaul myself, using money from 2 part time jobs while going to school. It can be done. Like a lot of people on this site know, if you can pick up and turn a wrench the right way, you'll save yourself a shit load of money in a very short time :D

Dont sell ya e30. Keep it for when the M5 is up on jack stands. Cause, it will be.

                    +1

Other than the typical e39 issues (cooling system mainly), they are very reliable cars. As discussed above, the carbon build up is an issue, but if the OP plans on keeping it for an extended period of time he has a couple years before worrying about that :)
