probably... i really need 2 get a video of me doing the turn in 3rd gear. well i got a pic if this helps. Yeah well now ill just replace the rear and start investing in suspension. Been autoxing and drifting too long on the body roll setup. But yeah my e30 has come a long way i think. Auto to 5 spd and all the other goodies have made it a fun car to drive.Originally posted by rwdrift....for the first week you have your car back that is. "drifts" on completely bald tires that grip like complete shit in the first place when new don't count. Particularly when you end it hopping a curb.

um yeah. And tires were brand new when i started earlyer that day. Thanks again for making me try to feal like an ass. I just dont care what people think. Im sorry that im not scared to "drive" my car. But hey why dont i throw on some azenis and try drifting with barely 150 hp. Anyways anybody got part #'s for this stuff?Comment

I'm sorry but that's too hilarious with your sig directly below it.
yes i did read through the whole post.
some day I want to go do a drift event, it just doesn't go over so well with 245s and 170hp
If you don't have any suspension mods in the back, I'd take this opportunity to do subframe/t-arm bushings along with a complete new (straight) trailing arm from a junkyard car or something

yeah im replacing the whole rear off a parts car. Ima drop the subframe and do all the bushings. Ontop of getting some shocks and springs. If it wasent for my daily id be screwed. And yeah my sig is old. But hey when you own a site about drifting and your 1 of 2 bmw's on it. You gotta represent. Those 245's must be awesome for auto x though. I say u just go to a drift day with some bottlecaps and have some fun. Its amazing how much fun u have sliding your car around and learning its limit.Comment

its harder to get the back out with good tires, but way more controllable....whole roundabout drifting :D
i hit a curb ages ago in my old car.....its so much easier just to replace everything....because stuff will be bent and piss you off and you will have to do it again.....both trailing arms and subframe...if you can do urethane subframe mounts and trailing arm bushes...easy jobs and make the back end a lot stiffer, not sure about half shafts and diff, mine were fine
put some vids up, sideways is always funJUNGL3

No offense man, I respect the stuff you do, not a lot of drift e30's out there, but you really should think twice before drifting on public streets. That's about as safe as street racing between lights, I don't care how long you've been doing it. You never know if there's a kid or something about to cross the street and doesn't expect a car coming around the corner sideways in a full drift...sorry, gotta be said.Originally posted by e30 gangstaWell @ least now ill think twice about sliding a turn with curbs.
Anyways, you're lucky you didn't flip. If both of your tires had hit, you would have. It only takes a small curb and about 25 mph with both tires hitting the curb to send you right over. Keep your bad ass drifting on the track, where you can gain respect and have a good time without fucking your car up and putting other people in danger :)
Coming from the guy who's pulling wheelies on a moped in his sig...if that's not balls I don't know what is :)Originally posted by 808BMWI don't have the balls to pull off 60mph 3rd gear drifts...Comment

new zeland huh i have a crazy drift video from there. Um yeah more rubber on the floor is always better. But with 205/60/14 i seem to do just fine. I like it and it is awesome. Nice grip and nice smoke. I wanna make the rear end stiffer like you sayed. My subframe is fine. And so is the diff. So ill just change all the stuff. Once i have everything the way i want. I would like to start sliding on a 225. But 225 tires hurt my wallet.
And when i street slide i have lookouts. On each corner and we use radios. We arent street racers. IM not about to slide a busy intersection or a blind corner.. It was a warehouse district and i had the green light for the turn. IM not a retard. I have regard for human life including my own. Street sliding is dangerous enough. So i do not 2 slide around other people and put them in a dangerous situation. I mean come on down here in Miami im part of getting people on the track to drift. And i take part of running every event we throw. Im not saying to street slide cause theres not enough track days im just saying i do it and but i use my head when i do.Comment

Well, it does sound like you're a bit more careful than breaking the tires loose coming up your street every time you come home :) Good to see there's some form of a system, but I don't know if Officer Brady would agree that's enough of a reason not to give you a ticket or throw your ass in a cell for a bit...still not being an ass, just being realistic. Maybe the lookouts are enough.Originally posted by e30 gangstanew zeland huh i have a crazy drift video from there. Um yeah more rubber on the floor is always better. As for the tightening the rear suspsension, the tighter you can get it, the easier that end is going to slide. The more urethane you can stuff in there, the better, along with the stiffest damn shocks you can get. Make the front soft and you'll get it swinging even harder. But, I'm sure you knew all that, so I'll shut my face :)Comment

yeah i wanna run all all urethane. And 650 in the rear with gc's. Ive been street sliding down here for a while now. Erik and tj have swung by a couple of times. We do it very organized and safe. Its also nice to have drifter friends that are certified firefighters/ emt's. ( incase of a emergancys ) I mean we slide in remote locations that have stuff that you shouldnt hit. I just choose to slide around turns and not a parking lot. But i always do it in a safe manner. Only thing safer than what we do now is close down the street. lol and yes i have had run ins with the law before. I know what im doing is illegal so i pull the keys out of the ignition and talk 2 the officer. Most of the time they are amazed how organized and safe we are for being "street drifters." But regardless they either hit me with a ticket or tell me to leave.Comment
