make sure you check your subframe.....especially the mounting tabs for the trailing arms....i thought mine was sweet.....and mine didnt look as bad as yours either.....205's are plenty....i spent last winter in my old 325 with an open diff with crap 195/60R14's....was fun

Mean, that rear wheel resembled what my 318i front wheel looked like after it we wall-rided it at 70k's over rocks :) Unfortunately the frame took most of the impact, writing off the car

Up close the subframe looks unharmed. The trailing arm link to the subframe looks untouched and not even bent in anyway. But this is all an assumption.

considering that subframes will bend without turning your trailing arm into a pretzel, I wouldn't assume anything. at least have it checked out.

Of course. I said it "looks" unharmed. At this point we've done nothing but speculate what has been damaged.

I just got finished redoing my rear-end for a 5-lug swap. Here is what I would recommend...

Contact either http://www.bmwwholesale.net (ask for Chris or Bill) and get them to ship you the parts you need. Their prices are better than The Euro Depot in my opinion and they really know their e30s. Give them a call and they can walk you through what you need. I just talked with them on the phone the other day and I know they got everything you need. They have like 30+ e30 parts cars alone. Im thinking:

                    1. subframe probably, big but not that heavy so shipping shouldn't be expensive. - Im thinking $75 for the part?
                    2. trailing arm definitely (replace the whole damn thing, don't bother ripping off the wheel hub, etc.). - potentially free, see below.
                    3. Drive axle definitely - $30-45 most like from TED or BMW Wholesale
                    4. Check the shock mount area and make sure its not bent or torn. If it is there are reinforcement kits to repair it.
                    5. Check to see if your diff is leaking. It shouldn't be. Disconnect the 6 hex bolts that hold the drive axle on and spin the driver's side rear tire with the car in neutral... does it turn smoothly? Does it click or make anyother wierd grinding sound? A slight grinding sound is normal, but it should turn smoothly. Diffs are pretty much bullet proof so I would be amazed if it were broken.
                    6. Check the sway bar area... those things are flimsy and I wouldn't doubt one of those are bent. Good excuse to get either Ireland Engineering's swaybar kit (which I just got) or the Suspension Techniques kit from Turner with the reinforcements. Just gotta drill 4 holes and you got a WAY stronger mount.

If you are willing to pay for shipping, and are willing to bend the dust shield back into place I can send you my passenger side trailing arm for nothing (Im thinking 35-50 bucks for shipping without the brake rotor or caliper attached). The driver's side one was the sorry victim of my aggression when I was trying to get the subframe to drop. I'll take a look at it tonight and make sure its in working order. It has 176k miles on it and the bearing spins well and doesn't wobble or make noise.

Regardless, its easier to work on this kinda stuff with the subframe outta the car, but replacing the subframe bushing can and will be a pain in the ass.

Drop me an email regarding the trailing arm.

And don't let the holyier-than-thow people get at you. If you have spotters and are just playing in a business park after hours then that is way safer than most of the people in Miami. I know I would probably eat a gun if I killed a kid though. I just think of that and keep myself in check, but on back roads where there are only deer... can't resist it.

                    Peace
                    Jared

Great stuff. Me and Guillermo are in SoFla, however there are events every 1-2 months in Ocala at a go-kart track.

damn yer lucky u only hit a curb....when i crashed my 4door bronzit i was drifting around a 180 degree banked turn and r3v'ed it into a light pole. totalled.
your damage isnt that bad, i seen worse on many cars that were repaired. but i'd say if yer gonna do all that work just replace the rear subframe while u have everything off already...no use having to press the bushings out and in again eh?
