Stig Dies

The stig from BBCs Topgear show has died. He was racing a nitrous injected Jag Xjs on an aircraft carrier when something failed on the car and he didnt get stopped before the edge, he plunged into the water below and drowned. My condolences he will be sorely missed. They were trying to see how fast they could get the Jag up to before the end of runway as a way to start off new season.

Any idea of how fast he was going when he hit the water? I'd think that if he slowed down enough and was able to get through hitting the water falling from the height of the aircraft carrier deck, that he could have simply rolled down the windows, opened the door, and escaped. Of course, it was a Jag, so the electrical system probably went haywire, jamming the windows.

Yeah same here...Poor guy...Truely great driver. RIP Stig. Atleast he went out doing what he was good at/loved. :shock:

sorta off topic-

i've heard that the new stig is actually old reported tiff needells. after he left for fifth gear, he missed driving high performance cars and such, so the only way to be able to drive was to be the new stig. i also have the top gear tribute to stig video, if anyone wants to host it, i'll gladly give it up
