Sucks to hear what happened! When on CL and see these parts I will let you know.
They should have Surveillance cameras everywhere there. Someone or somthing had to have seen your car drive off.

also, if the seats are stock sport seats, they arent Recaro.

That suck, crime is just getting worse here in NorCal with all the people needing money probably the same in SoCal. They probably punched the door luck and the ignition to get it going.

I had to do the same thing for a e30 I bought from a wrecker with no keys took less then 10 minutes for me to get the steering unlocked and car started and I was trying to minimize the damage.

          Losing a passport sucks.

Car thieves are not just the typical smash and pop the ignition type. Those looking for a ride into the city will just need a screwdriver and target the usual, blend in with the rest of them Honda or hoopty crown victoria.

A car theft like this is someone who knows what they are looking for. Some of the slick trucks (imagine an F250 with a tow truck back secreted in the bed) can have a car hoisted in no time.

If you really put money into your car and use it as a DD or often in parts of town you wish you needn't... get LoJack. It wont prevent the theft but recovery is often. If you decide to even advertise your car is equipped with it that will send a strong message of deterrence.

Being RWD I will park accordingly, so it cannot just be snaked by a stealth truck without headaches.

I see this kind of crap often enough to have an idea what works, what doesn't, what can and what won't.

This is scary, didn't know E30's got stolen like that. Make me think twice about going to the Galleria.

Does the parking garage require parking permits or anything?? I parked at friends house walked outside and my car was gone. I thought it got stolen, but it had actually been towed by the Nazi parking enforcers. Just a thought...

Back in against a wall or other cars. Parking brake ='s a lot of tire smoke and an illegal tow for them if they can't disengage the parking brake.

You guys do know that if a thief wants your car, they will steal it regardless of what theft deterrent you have on it. It may take a little longer but an hour was plenty of time for the OPs car to be stolen :(

                          OP any leads yet?

sorry, couldnt resist. hope it turns up with minimal damage, you keeping an eye out on craigs? Lots of goodies on that car, if they try to part it it will show up.

                            Good luck.

ahh good to know. Especially considering how our tow hook in the rear is just wide out in the open
