Those are useless. An inverter and a bathroom heater would be less ghetto. Or equally ghetto, but at least it would be effective.

That will actually move air through something. I'd suggest two in parallel.

I would like to see those adapted to the standard HVAC box. I'm considering mocking it up if I ever get my hands on a spare box. I am tired of used blowers squeaking on me, and a new one is $$$$ for a damn fan. By the time you need to service them, the commutator is shot, and the bearings are weird. if they were BB or sleeve bearings, I could at least service them.

        LOL @ fishtankHVACpanel

        Thanks man!

i think if you used quickcrete and large rocks, you could create a serviceable fire ring on the passengers side, and im sure you could carry an ample supply of firewood in the trunk.

Nah dawg, you want a titanium firebox. I've used these when sleeping outdoors in the winter (in a tent, ofc), and they're tits.

Just run a chimney out the side somewhere, and it's all good.

RC motors arent a great idea becuase you need to adapt them into some sort of fan and mounting system/housing. Easier to buy something premade.

Why is it so difficult to remove the entire heater / ac / blower box and install in your car? Seriously, if you don't need ac that's fine, remove the ac evaporator core from the PLASTIC box and keep the water heater core and fan... I've removed mine originally and it sucked came winter, I quickly put another one in with new gaskets to make it as efficient as possible. It really isn't a complicated setup, nor is it expensive. It bolts up, you don't have to re-invent the wheel, and it basically works?!

It just doesn't make sense imho to half ass something when the end result will be "ok" if that, since another function of the box/fan is to also de-fog the front windshield or you'll be wiping the damn thing with a rag or have your girl do it and never ever ride in your car again ...

                            Cost and simplicity.

Unless anyone here has started with a gutted car and had to warm it up a little shut the fuck up about making the stock unit work.

I removed the whole a/c / heater system when I tossed the original dash in my car, and then re-installed another from a parts car. It was not complicated, you are making it more difficult than it really is.

The box bolts up with 4 nuts to the firewall opening, the heater core has two pipes/hoses through the firewall, there is ONE electrical plug that connects near the steering shaft, and if it's cut fine, splice 12 volt and make your own on/off switch for the fan, at least re-use the stock heater/fan box that WORKS and FITS the car. If you don't like or want the very simple MANUAL cable controls, skip it as well.

You are making it sound it sound like the e30 heater box is microprocessor controlled.... it's not. And they are what $50 at your local junk yard?

                                Im listening.

I only want on and off operation, and no HVAC panel. I would just run the vent up to the windshield and then to the footwells.

My worries is the whole dash harness wiring that I pulled (but didnt get rid of). Could I wire the blower fan for just on/off or maybe use a different speed controller.
