M-Technic production numbers of appearance pkg and genuine?

I have done a bunch of searches and can't find exact numbers as to how many genuine and appearance package cars were built. was just curious as I just picked up an m technic white appearance package... I just want to know how rare these are. thanks for any help in advance.

First, the 5 speeds. In the VIN ranges for the 5 speed cars, I found 40 VINs that listed the "M Technic Luxusausstattung" option (M Technic Luxury Equipment):

8 MacaoBlau. 5 had heated seats.
14 BrillantRot. Only 3 had heated seats.
18 SterlingSilber. Only 2 had heated seats.

The 5 speed VIN range from the ETK for 04/91, was EC04922-EC04979.
The 5 speed VIN ranges from the TIS for 04/91, were: EC04910, EC04915, EC04917, EC04922-EC04976, EC04979.
I checked these VIN ranges: EC04909-EC04910, EC04914-EC04917, EC04922-EC05046, EC05060-EC05069.


Automatics. In the VIN ranges for the automatics, I found 56 VINs that listed the "M Technic Luxusausstattung" option (M Technic Luxury Equipment):

10 MacaoBlau. 5 had heated seats.
15 BrillantRot. None had heated seats.
31 SterlingSilber. 6 had heated seats.

The automatic VIN range from the ETK for 04/91, was EC26385-EC26761.
The automatic VIN ranges from the TIS for 04/91, were: EC26274, EC26276, EC26304-EC26305, EC26317, EC26313-EC26314, EC26329, EC26331-EC26335, EC26338-EC26339, EC26341-EC26343, EC26346, EC26349-EC26350, EC26354, EC26359-EC26362, EC26364-EC26365, EC26367-EC26373, EC26375, EC26378-EC26379, EC26382-EC26383, EC26385-EC26671, EC26674-EC26720, EC26724-EC26735, EC26738-EC26739, EC26744-EC26750, EC26752-EC26754, EC26761.
I checked these VIN ranges: EC26385-EC26762 and about 75 other VINs.

In the automatic VIN ranges that I checked, I also found 49 ALPINWEISS2 M-technic appearance and 56 DIAMANTSCHWARZ METALLIC M-Technic appearance. This seems to conflict with the "Appearance package cars were all 1992" that is heard on the Net.

You are reading it wrong, the dude is saying HE FOUND 49 VINS that come up as Appearance Package...still doesnt tell you many were actually produced. Your car is very common...the Full M-tech is the bizness

The key that most people are missing is this is only for cars produced in 4/91. There are more M Technics (upto 7/91 I believe) and many more appearance packages produced in the following months. I spoke with the author of that site and he acknowledges it's incomplete but it's the ONLY resource on the net for M Technic convertibles. I think they kept making appearance packages upto late 91. That's why some appearance packages are 92 year models. Yeah, the white M techs are the most common.

The production date for my M-tech is 1991-05-02. It has the more rare (but less desirable) full leather interior, no m-tech fabric.
