any one interested in some individual throttle bodies?

i wast sure if this should be in the for sale section or not, and there really isnt a place for it in the engine forum, but it can be moved if nessary

Im thinking of making some itb's for my m42 this summer and i wondering if i made some more people would be interested in buying them? I may even start some sort of small business doing it becasue i would like to have a form of income this summer. I could do it for other models too but someone would have to lend me their car for a few days. THey would use bike TB's and would be plenty big for our cars. I cant say how much power, if any, but i can tell you they will increase the response of your engine and will look baller in your engine bay. Im thinking the price will probably be around $500 but it could be higher or lower. This is extremly cheap compared to companies like bmp. There will probably be a couple different kinds for each engine, one to use stock engine management and one for something like smt6 or unichip.

If there is any interest in these, say so!

yeah they'll be kind of like that. I could even paint them!!!! I dunno how much those are but i would think they'd be over 1000 maybe like 1500.

I would be interested in something like that. Try doing some for the M50/S50 and you could sell more than you could make.

You'll have to beat $476 for a set of intake manifolds, or $594 for a set of throttle bodies

it would be almost 800 with those airhorns, stock management couldnt be used, and the tb's look very far away from the engine. im doing this to see if anyone is interested in mine, not others

Those air horns go into a plenum, which connects to some sort of flow meter. Throttle bodies are probably the easiest part of this project. Designing a proper plenum, and tuning are the more challenging aspects of the project.

While your intentions are good, I don't think slapping on some throttle bodies to an otherwise stock M42 is going to make substantial gains. The throttle bodies are a step, but you need to make the head flow better to take advantage of the increased breathing of the intake. I hate to discourage you: I'd be ecstatic if you proved me wrong, because then I'd cancel my plans for a M50 swap to my car :D

That being said, I think there could be potential gains if you make a well designed plenum and thottle body system that uses MAP and TPS sensors instead of the stock AFM. ;)

i said there may be little or no power gains with stock management. But yes im sure if a bunch of head work was done then they would make a difference in power.

Combined with a chip and flywheel they would make for one responsive engine.

dbilas dynamic claims a 15hp increase from theres which are €1450, what ever that is in dollars.

I'd wanna see the finished product before I'd commit to any interest.

What are you plans per designing an intake plenum/collector for the throttle bodies?

i have a few idea, not sure about which one i'll do yet. Theres welding one, getting a big plastic tube and molding some smaller ones onto its side for the tb's to connect to, and trying to make one out of fiberglass. I was thinking of trying to use the bike one but i dont think it will look/fit right in the engine bay
