So I was on my way home from where ever, and I was rev matching and downshifting and my car was lurching forward like an angry lion at a singfry and roy show. I thought maybe I was givin her a little to much on the down shifts but I dunno it was real weird. I believe my subframe bushings, TA bushings and diff bushings are shot to shit, would that cause something like that? And it still clunks quite often when shifting... occasionally... I dunno somethings shot out on it.

clunking when you shift are definitely shot bushings.
this is what happens:
1. while accelerating the RSFBs are under load and pressed down tight
2. when the gas is let off to shift, weight pitches forward, space is created between the shot RSFBs and w/e
3. when the gas is applied or the car simple returns to a neutral state, weight is again put on them. and that is when the clunk is heard.
same basic idea for the CSB. if your e30 has over 150k miles, and they havent been done, you definitely need to do the CSB and RSFBs. its something that should get done to every used e30 one buys and has plans for it to be a nice car.AWD > RWDComment

yeah that shits a fucking bitch though.
New CSB needs a new driveshaft, the RSFB's are just fucking hell. I've had rsfb's sitting in my closet for over a year now. I sure as shit can't afford a new drive shaft and csb.

if the csb isnt actually destroyed, dont assume you need a new driveshaft. subframe bushings aren't that bad. set aside a weekend to drop the subframe, clean/paint whatever, put in new bushings and trailing arm bushings, probably diff bushing too. easy! and you'll sleep better at night. you already bought the subframe bushings, youve got no excuse now.Comment

+1^ driveshafts can can go through several CSBs before needing replacement . There is hardly any angle on an e30 u joint so worn joints dont bother the drivetrain like a setup with several degrees u joint angle. word.if the csb isnt actually destroyed, dont assume you need a new driveshaft. subframe bushings aren't that bad. set aside a weekend to drop the subframe, clean/paint whatever, put in new bushings and trailing arm bushings, probably diff bushing too. easy! and you'll sleep better at night. you already bought the subframe bushings, youve got no excuse now.Comment

I replaced my guibo, CSB, diff bushing w/o replacing the driveshaft.
Upshifts great but I have a clunk from the rear when stopping moderately quickly. Does not seem to be the driveshaft. Could it be the RTABS? Like someone posted above?

prolly your subframe bushings and tabs, I think I was just shot out the other day and was over revving the piss out of it on downshifts.
