Maybe i should register and check it out. I remember seeing pictures of some UK-based 333i over a decade ago. Silver mostly. And with that nice M Technic One aero parts.

The e9 CSL Batmobile did have aluminum hood and doors. Never heard it with the e30 333i, but it is possible, yet unlikely. Let's remember that the only reason to have the 333i was that at the higher South Africa altitude, motors were choked by the lack of oxygen, and that to achieve better performance, a bigger motor was substituted. Did it also mandated to get aluminum hood and doors? All I can say is that Alpina and Hartge's own M30 converted cars didn't have such fancy parts.

Another BMW specifically produced for South Africa was a turboed M30 e28.

I like how the dude who is actually from south africa is getting mostly ignored. lol.

He is talking about the 325is they got down there which came with beefy motors. Evo versions have 5 lug, alpina motors & alu body panels (iirc) all on a narow bodied e30s.

                        SA Evo 325iS.

Nevertheless, these cars were always sold to the public. This culminated in the 325iS Evo II of late 1991. By now several body panels were made of aluminum and the M20 engine grew to 2.7 L and now produced 155 kW (208 hp))and a 0-62 mph in a mere 7.5 seconds.
