Car broke down last night, have no tow hook, what do i do?

Is there anywhere else to secure a tow rope? I need to get this thing back home and figure out why it just quit on me in the middle of the road. I don't think its getting fuel. I put the key to run and couldn't hear the pump with the fuel cap off so i'm guessing that shit out or the wiring to it did. My car is missing the tow hook, or at least I couldn't find it in the trunk. Has anyone picked up anything from the hardware store and used that? I don't want to leave it somewhere random over the weekend an risk having it get towed.

Sometime there is a bracket on the passenger(?) side "frame rail" as it turns up toward the fender well.

Why not call a tow truck? Have you ever rope towed a car before? It's not fun or safe really. Just FYI.

Well you should know that the e30 brakes are vacuum assist. If there's no motor, you won't have a vacuum, and you'll have almost no brakes.

i've driven cars with no vaccuum booster assist thats not an issue, had to tow the rx7 3 times, we drive rather slow. its also late at night and thankfully no one is on the road. just need to know where i can hook it, perhaps around the subframe?

smack the bottom of the fuel tank with a rubber mallet and drive it home.. take some fresh relays too. Its normally something simple
otherwise pull the front bumper and rig a tow strap to the bumper shock

Ponied up the cash and had it towed, turns out my insurance will cover it if I give the the receipt. Ended up getting 2 hours of sleep, I'll be checking the car out when I get home. I'll pull the back seat and check the pump and wiring for continuity.

pull the vac line going from your intake to your fuel pressure regulator (little can looking thing on the fuel rail) and suck on it. if you get a mouth full of fuel you know your problem (fpr)

The fuel pump only runs when cranking, so just turning the key to run won't make the pump work. The only way to test it with out cranking is to jump the relay.

I'll try both, not surprised with the relay thing, fpr I'm not looking forward to tasting fuel >_>

I would hope that you have a working e-brake. If so that does not need vacuum to make the main brakes work. Tow and apply the e-brake, done it a few times. Never had issues.
