Dont know much about the pro's and con's of the ix's. Guy down the block has one for sell for a good price. But are parts for the all wheel drive easy to get , do they last i heard the all wheel drive breaks fast. And there alot harder to work on then its rear wheel brother ?

thats a loaded question. First you want to do the jack test to see if the TC is in good shape. yes some parts on the iX are more expensive. Go to e30tech and go to the iX section. It has very good info and IIRC a sticky to help you with this ver question.

i have a 88' 325ix and there really good cars but there are some things you got to look for. Since there winter cars of course they've been in the snow... a lot... so check it over good for any rust, floor boards, fender corners, truck, are some of the most comman. Make sure JV boots are not ripped and check to see if the current tires are the same size if not walk a way. I would take it for a ride and put the back tires is some grass for gravel and front on pavement and see if the front tires grab. There is a update recall for head bolts make sure it was done!!! if not pull the valve cover and make sure its not to late... this was my mistake so learn from me and don't make the same mistake. The list can go on so left said before check out e30tech
