    ratio brain fart

    ok...tired
    playing with numbers
    what rear end ratio a ratio would give me lower engine rpms at say 60mph

    a ratio with a higher number ( say 3.36)
    or a ratio with a slightly lower number ( 3.2)

    lower aka taller aka longer

    I think... unless I'm brain farting as well

      Well the eta's only rev to 5K and their diffs are around 2.9 - 2.7:1
      Therefore... ;)

        going for more economy, dont need to get faster to 60, just more fuel efficient

        so I guess the 3.2 in my example is the more efficient from what you two are saying

          A lower number in your rear end will give you lower rev's

            Lower = Taller.

                  Got 3.73 LSD in my eta, stupid fun!
                  It tops out around 120, but who needs to go faster than that anyway? haha

                    This calculator is designed to give you a rear end gear ratio.

                      its easy. a 4.10 diff means 1:4.1 ratio. That means for every revolution of your rear wheels, your driveshaft has spun around 4.1 times. Therefore, the smaller number (or bigger ratio, as the number is always divided by 1), the less times your driveshaft spins to make the wheels spin once.
