Found a unincorn- Mtech 1 kit

Hey everyone- I have been struggling with my 88 325is for a few months. Earlier in the summer, I broke a rocker arm on the highway. I finally got around the getting a rebuilt head put on. The car now runs great and has a bit more grunt from the 272 shrick cam. Once I got the car back, the windshield wiper motor took a dump, the blower motor stopped working, and I had a bilstein shock seize up. I took a time out from the car as it isn't my daily driver. I have been accumulating parts for all the repairs.

My luck turned around this weekend, I responded to a local craigslist ad advertising misc e30 parts. Much to my surprise, the car had a mtech 1 body kit on there. The owner didn't think it was all that special and wanted to get rid of all of it. I bought the kit and a bunch of other cool period parts that were on the car. I got a really nice set of blue Flofit front seats, blue houndstooth (4 door) door cars and rear seats, a Formuling France steering wheel (with bmw horn button and adapter), set of rear bilsteins, and a blower motor.

The rear valence isn't in the greatest shape, but at least I have all the parts accounted for. There are no holes in the plastic, but it will take some love to get it right. The skirts have the mounting hardware. The fogs were on the front valence, too.

My car is an 1988 model so I am not sure what I will end up doing with this kit. I wanted to post it here and figured plenty of people would chime in. Here are the pics:

      those seats look comfy

you can make a good profit off that kit. even without the rear valance.
      now give me those sideskirts.

Everything there is rough as hell, but I am still jealous as fuck. Congratulations.

(p.s. I've got an 87 if you want to send that kit to a good home 8) )

The seats are very comfortable. My sport interior is grey so the blue is not the greatest color. I would imagine they could be dyed black though.

The front valence and skirts are actually in nice shape. They were extremely dirty when I took the pics. I was too tired from hauling them into my place to clean them up at all and my wife didn't want them hanging out on the floor all night. It took me two trips to get everything home in my car.

The metal bumper part of the rear valence is shot for sure. The plastic part of the valence seems like it could be fixed and reattached to another bumper. The black rub strip and end caps are all there. Someone motivated enough could make it work.

Nice score. you maybe able to save rear once you remove bumper and get a heat gun and form it back into shape.

There is a member on here with a late model MT1, IIRC he used the vert bumper ends in the rear.
