    Engine Oil - German Castrol

This stuff is made in Germany and much higher quality than all other Syntec. Been reading up on oil a shit ton today for my Mum's Forester.

This crap is too thin though for an M20? I mean back in the 80's 20W50 was the stuff for it, but now oil is SO MUCH BETTER... so?

Mobil Delvac seems to be on par with Shell Rotella.

Diesel oil is good in an M20 right? Because of the high ZDDP content?

So Shell Rotella or what sleeve said Mobil Delvac?

Ummmm yeah kinda Mobil Delvac 1300 (conventional) is on par but slightly better than Rotella. Its whats in my Lawn mower power washer and my Gen set at work. Delvac 1 is whats in my truck the little womans truck and my personal Gen sets

Delvac 1 is Full Synthetic, and was developed for over the road trucks to run 100k Mile Service Intervals with just filter changes and top off's

Yes API CJ-4 oils have very High ZZDP content in fact Delvac 1 has one of the highest something long the lines of 1750ppm. The only thing that I know of that has more is Valvoline conventional ZR1 racing oil Available in 20/50 its what I use in M20's

here you go Oil info over load

                  Thanks Sleeve.

So Delvac 1 is heavy duty synthetic group IV, Rotella is Group III

hey 5toes i work at an oil manufacturing company and i defiantly wouldnt be running any diesel oils in a 20 year old motor. Diesel oils contain various additives for soot and other cleaning properties that will cause internal internal cleaning equaling oil leaks.

Be careful what you read with marketing rubbish from oil companys. Also the word synthetic is a very bastardized word just thrown around in the industry.

Yes I know that synthetic is kind of a gimmick, and most shit is only really like 12% synthetic. But hmm it isnt really a diesel oil but more classified "heavy duty"

Good oil but why spend the money on an M20. I do regular Castro GTX in the BMWs but I don't have an S85 that I am revving to 8K either.

Reading this article (http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/cms/in...d=84&Itemid=92), and sounds like 0W X synthetic is much better for an engine than any 20W
