Even the Subaru guys call a USDM 1998-2001 coupe a GC. :???:

I try not to hate on any car. If it has decent handling/power, I'll take a look.

Our 2003 forester is a nice car for what it is. Gas mileage is hard to get good though, really have to try to get 15mpg or more in town with some highway.

The car is really grippy, even with stock tires. But I have never driven another AWD car so yeah.

I learned to drive on ours

I believe the new ones are 265hp.

Yup... 265. Still stoked about that girl from Germany who has probably been to the ring. Plus she has a cool name, Pia.

Just like all cars. Unless it is like a citroen 2CV.. those things are so easy to work on.

You should test drive one. Which year are you looking for? I know the 2007+ STI's have crappy bushings/control arms. Also, IIRC the 2008+ WRX's are faster to 60mph than the STI's because they have to shift into 3rd.

Working on them is straightforward but somethings that are faster to install on an inline/V engine take longer on a boxer engine. ie, Spark plugs take longer to install since you have to remove the intake(not the manifold) and move the water tank. If you know what you are doing, it will only a take a few minutes extra for normal maintaince.

                        Bingo!

Normal everday maintaince is easy. It's when you start upgrading parts on/near the engine that get difficult, like an aftermarket turbo inlet or fuel rails.

                          Fair enough, head pulled in.

Maybe we were just lucky to have our Subaru idols being Colin McRae and Possum Bourne blasting round forests at a million miles an hour :o

(so yea, every 20 something was wearing a huge blue puffer jacket and every car had 555 stickers)

Just wondering why as a moderator you decided to jump on the bandwagon and bash this guys car? Instead of putting a end to the thread before 11 pages of bandwidth were wasted. All the guy did was post some pics of his car and you guys start calling him out on stickers and carbon. Who gives a fuck? To each there own. Sounds like he has a decent stable of bmw's now.

Like a puppy who has soiled the rug that really tied the room together, he needed his nose rubbed in it to get the message.
