So I want to know what everyone thinks about the 85 318i. Im mainly looking for some cheap reliable transportation to get me through this school year until I can replace the motor with an m50 next summer. But first a few questions. You think its a worthwhile investment? THe car appears to be in pretty good shape. No rust, paint a little faded, motor and interior look good. How much do you think the swap will cost when performed at a shop? Id do it myself but I dont really have access to the garage space. Thanks guys and let me know what you think.

Yeah Ive heard they are the lightest by far. Seemed like a solid option economically until I can do the motor swap for the good gas milage. Im assuming since it was an m10 that it wasnt really abused either. Should I be worried with reliability issues seeing as its a 20 year old car?Back to my roots
