Gas mileage suckage (no e30 content)

This past summer i sold my 04 A4 1.8t 6spd for $10,000 gave my dad the cash and he gave me his loaded 06 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 5.7l Hemi. I knew the jeeps gas mileage would suck, and i would miss my A4, but my dad needed the cash so i did the deal. Anyway, ive been driving the jeep as my daily and this gas mileage is destroying my. I'm averaging 12.8-13.8ish regardless of highway or city. I don't take it over 75mph and i drive it pretty conservatively. This sucks, a lot. Do any of you guys know any ways to improve MPG?

I cant go on like this. There are 2 months left on the financing and once its paid off its bye bye jeep, but until then i need a solution.

    thanks in advance.

Drive the e30. There is nothing that's going to get you 2x better mileage from that jeep.

My friend's jeep pretty consistently averages sub 14. As long as there aren't any maintenance things overdue, there isn't a lot you can do.

Driving 45-55 mph should give you optimal mileage on most cars, if you can keep it there and avoid dying... Also, upping your tire pressure might help (not above max sidewall).

up the pressure and buy a tuner.
all 5.7's eat gas but thats how they are tuned. The tuner will grab you 2-3.5 mpg highway. (they won't run better at all)

the trick with the hemi is stayin under 2800rpm. It's going to suck but it's all you can do.
I drove the 5.7 commander and owned a 06 5.7 ram... all the same suck ass results.

ive got all of 300whp at the tap of my foot and i avg 19 city and 26 hwy....didn't even get that much economy stock.

let me add CDI, COP and sequential ign/fuel, and I can probably bring efficiency up a few more. maybe you can do the same for that thing.
